A study funded by Morinaga Milk Industry Co. and published in Nutrients found that consuming a probiotic containing B. longum BB536 and B. breve MCC1274 significantly reduced abdominal visceral fat and serum triglyceride levels in both healthy and overweight adults. The study, which involved 100 participants over 16 weeks, observed suppressed BMI increases and improved body composition in the probiotic group compared to the placebo, attributing the effects to anti-inflammatory activity, postbiotic production, and improved lipid metabolism.
