Pelvigen™

Pelvigen™

Pumpkin Seed Extract Plus High-Genistein Soy Isoflavones for Healthy Bladder Control*

About Pelvigen™

Nearly one-third of women aged 30 to 60 confront bladder control challenges.*[i] This difficulty can cause social and emotional discomfort, thereby decreasing quality of life. Pelvigen™ is a unique combination of pumpkin seed extract and high-genistein soy isoflavones formulated to support healthy bladder control.*

An open, prospective, eight-week clinical trial of 82 middle-aged women found that Pelvigen™ supported healthy bladder control, reducing feelings of urgency as well as nighttime trips to the bathroom.*[ii] The women reported a 96.2 percent rate of satisfaction with the supplement and an 85.5 percent improvement in quality of life.*

Mechanism of Action

Pumpkin seed has been shown to have antiandrogenic effects in rats.*[iii] By blocking the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, it may strengthen pelvic muscles.*[iv] Pumpkin seed is also thought to increase nitric oxide, which positively affects bladder control.*[v] Genistein, a phyto-nutrient that binds to estrogen receptors, has been shown to support bladder integrity in post-menopausal women by increasing the expression M2 and M3 receptors and enhancing the CaBP-9K gene via ER-alpa.*[vi],[vii]

Safety

Soy and pumpkin seeds have been consumed in the cuisines of many cultures for many years. Both ingredients are also widely used in supplements. Pelvigen™ has been tested for safety in human research and was found to be safe and effective, with no side effects reported.[viii]
