Juvecol®

Proteoglycans are a component of connective tissues such as bone, cartilage, and skin. Made from proteoglycans extracted from the cartilage of salmon, Juvecol is a NEXTY Award winning ingredient clinically documented to support joint health and skin beauty.*

The effect of salmon cartilage proteoglycans (sPG) on joint health was evaluated in a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind human clinical trial. Supplementation for 12 weeks supported joint comfort and mobility (improving both extension, the degree to which a joint can extend, and flexion, the degree to which a joint can bend).*

Another randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind human study found sPG improved multiple indices of skin condition after just two weeks, including elasticity, moisture, and appearance (reducing blotchiness, wrinkles, and pore size).*[1]

As we continue to age, we may notice more aches and pains around our body, but it doesn’t have to. Not with the help of NEXTY award winning ingredient, Juvecol

Juvecol is a dairy free, gluten free, and non GMO salmon cartilage extract manufactured in an eco friendly manner using byproducts of the food industry. It is the first naturally produced proteoglycan that is commercially available with clinical substantiation for joint and skin health.

Proteoglycans work by increasing the production of chondrocytes, also known as cartilage cells, which help repair deteriorated joints while also improving mobility, flexibility, and comfort.

Juvecol also can serve in a wide variety of capacities. Since the extract is extremely water soluble, it makes it the perfect partner for beverage solutions as well as easy to take tablets and capsules.

Don’t let joint pain stand in the way of your life, try Juvecol today

STATUS

FUNCTIONS

    MECHANISM OF ACTION

There are several hypotheses regarding how sPG works.

Skin: sPG induces the production of collagen and hyaluronan and enhances the proliferation of keratinocytes (skin cells).*

Joints:  sPG spurs the production of chondrocytes (cartilage cells) by helping them proliferate and differentiate.*

Skin and joints: sPG also stimulates immunity in the gut and lymphatic system, which helps maintain a balance of excitatory and inhibitory cytokines.*

    SAFETY

In Japan, salmon cartilage is consumed as a traditional tonic for joint health and general health. Numerous animal studies on purified proteoglycan, including a 90-day repeated dose toxicity study in rats, have shown no adverse effects and found it is safe for human consumption.[2]
